If I am right;
Chinese products finishing quality is poor as you know, how about the Bitstream 3x quality from inside and outsite?

Oh..and also another question;
If a Bitstream 3x user needs service for the product or needs a part of the product or assume that your Bitstream is broken down for some reason..

Does the product has to go back to China, to CME? and come back after repaired?

Is this a risk?
Who takes this risk?
Would you pay for the shipping to China and also pay to get it back?

What do you think about these?
Dont worry, it is all responsibility of the local distributor. Dont know if you will have one in Turkey but the CME in Germany is OK, had some problems with the electronic of the keyboard and it was taken care instantly.

Is there anything under 1000 $ that is not made in China ? So many things supposedly made in Europe are just put together here for the label sake.
CME worked for Suzuki, Kurzweil and other brands.

The warranty will be handled by your local CME rep/distributor.

Waveidea assured me that they have a lot of input as to the build quality of the chinese units and there will be nothing different to the current units.

On a side note...

My Alesis Andromeda .. made in Taiwan..

Kaoss Pad 2 .. made in china..

Boss stomp boxes now made in taiwan..

My girlfriend .. made in Taiwan..

overall I'm pretty ok with things which are made in China when they have been done so not for cutting corners, but for mass scale production.

Thanks

That would be very usefull..

The thing is I'm not very comfortable with my Local Distributor..Well here's what happened..

I decided to get the Bitstream 3x and looked for a Local Distributor in Turkey, and I found that it is "Motif Elektronik", so I went there and asked If they got it or they'll ship it out for me..

They told me that they have the local distribution of WaveIdea and CME but they have never worked with WaveIdea before, because nobody has ever ordered Bitstream 3x or another WaveIdea product before..

So..OK..I was the first in my country who wants a f*ckin good midi controller..And I made my order from the local distributor (Motif Elektronik) and they told me that it should come to Turkey in 1-2 weeks..
(Attention here: This was happened 1.5 months ago in the last days of october)

Then I've waited for 2 long weeks, and they didn't called me, so I called them to ask if the controller came or not..And they told me that they have ordered the product but the cargo truck was set on fire while the riot uprising in France!! (I was shocked) and they told me that they will order it again and it should ship within 1 week..

So I said order it again I want this product and they ordered again..I've waited for 1 more week..And again, they didn't called me, so I called them and asked about the controller..

They told me that something gone wrong with the insurance of the products that they were shipping (not only my product a whole truck of product that they ship and they can not getting it right now, but if I pay more (extra money) they will order it again as a special order for 1 product and it will come shortly (in 1 week!) and I asked how much extra money do I have to give to have this and they told me that they'll call me and give the price tomorrow..which was 3 days ago!

So I mailed the CME and WaveIdea support service and asked about the burning truck because I was suspicious, and they told me that they didn't aware of any cargo truck was set on fire! and also they told me that they are out of stock and will have in after january 2006..

I am really pissed off to the local distributor because it is obvious that they are lying me and trying to get more money from me because they said they will get me if i pay extra money but this product is out of stock right now, that means they can not ship whether I pay extra money or not!

So I am suspicious about having Bitstream 3x right now, I know the capabilities of the product is awesome but should it really worth me to continue dealing with the local distributor?

Should I take this risk for a product that I've only saw and read about from the internet?

I'd really appreciate if someone gives me an advice..Beceause I urgently need a good midi controller for live performance..The organizations are trying to book us to perform but we are rejecting all the events just because we didn't get the controller..

What should I do? I'm stuck..

FinoAttack!

I'd dump your local distributor and order from Thomann or Digital Village. They both have some sort of money back guarantee if you're not satisfied. Maybe you'll end up paying a bit more (because of the shipping) but you'd be dealing with a solid distributor.

Cheers,
Mikael

So you're basically suspicious of the distributor, and the product has nothing to do with that... Well, buy abroad. It'll probably end up costing less anyway.

Seems to me that next year we should see at least a handful of decent new midi controllers hit the market. Live is gaining in popularity so we should get more support from the controller manufacturers. For 399 the bitstream seems worth it..but I would still be using my B controllers too..the bitstream doesnt have enough buttons for me ;)

I do really like how its setup like a standard channel strip though...I wish Behringer would make a controller like that...a combination of the two B controllers into one would be nice.

Will Sasha's Maven ever hit the market I wonder? If it did it would probably cost like 2 grand anyway.

yep :D thank you very much!

Now We'll compare the pro's and con's of buying from our local distributor and from Thomann or Digital Village..

And decide which way is the best for us..

Again thanx :)
