so... actually... the point is to read the manual and the tutorials and try it yourself, and *then* come and ask questions? What a novel idea :-|

i have a mate who is really clued on generally, but he's not a 'geek' .. he taught himself how to play drums, moved from New Zealand to Australia on his own and started a decent life and is now managing a bar .. quite a long way from his 'thug' upbringing. I showed him Live but he just doesn't get certain aspects.. he's not the kind of guy who will read a manual.. because he just isnt wired to reading a bunch of stuff in a book and getting the bigger picture, but he has enough respect to kindly ask a question whenever I pop over to his place and sometimes he doesnt....

...but his enthusiasm surpasses his manners....

.. so there is no way I would let him down. That's how I feel about many forum users.

I've said this before and I will coin it:

If Sid Barett some started to pull away from his catatonic state, and wanted to know how to save liveclips... would it make you feel happy to know that you told him to RTFM?

How many electronic musicians does it take to turn a lightbulb into a bowl?
Probably not too many.

Just don't expect all of them to infer from plain english advanced or unintuitive procedures

Most electronic musicians fall into at least one of two categories:

A) Rightminded analytic geeks with a passion to express themselves before they settle down with a trophy wive (imo.)

B) Creative types that are struggling to gather themselves after use of drug abuse to make something positive of their lives.

I really see it like this, and I only mean them as extreme examples, but inheritantly I feel like both categories work best helping each other.

Now go make some musik or program something.
