You have never used side chaining. I see this reply type many times. SHEEEESH why so many people involv in music have no idea what they talk about.

why is it only a few, rather costly, commercial sidechain compressors are available for OS X? i've looked and looked, but couldn't find any. i usually do sidechaining, if needed with my creamware gear on the desktop, but i'd really like one for the powerbook without investing yet another 100+ $$$ for stuff i already have, but in another format.

Yep...I wish there were more compressors available for os x to do real sidechaining...

I guess I'll have to do the pseudo sidechain method with the live compressor.

In fact...I think we need to start a thread on OSX compressors...
