Every installation of Live comes with the manual, and it is accessible in the Help menu.
If he doesn't have a manual, it is logical to assume that he either didn't know he had one, or that he knew to go into his install directory and delete the PDF.
If it's the first option, then he is indeed an ignoramus. If it is the latter, then he clearly has enough intelligence to figure this one out on his own.
