woah lets not let this discussion get silly, this is important. it seems that the majors are backed into a corner (or on their backs kicking their legs, depends how you look at it) lashing out and biting the hand that feeds them. silly really, as the only way they can survive is to find a way of making money out of filesharing. they cant stop it. i used to think there was a chance that they would win, that all our music would in the future be scarily controlled, pay per play. but this incident just goes to show that they havent got a chance. why do you think they put this on the inside of the CD insert? cos most people just wouldnt buy it if they saw it on the outside.

so wheres the forward thinkers trying to formulate a new way for musicians to get paid?

heh , you're either working for sony - or delusional. The fact is , we are the ones being fed - so we need to bite the hand that is feeding us. because if you check out the charts , you'll see its absolute horseshit thats being sold by the truckload. black eyed peas 'my humps , my lovely lady bumps' ...the idiots who buy that shit are the ones financing this assault on our civil libarties. piece by piece, and you'll wake up one day and wonder how it turned so sour...and maybe you'll regret not picking up a rock now and then

Let the majors press vinyl and offer MP3 downloads. If I am going to purchase a piece of music for timeless nostalgia it is going to be vinyl. Where the pictures are bigger and popping the cherry is a sadistic ritual. Otherwise, that shit is an MP3 on my iPod or laptop. Who the fuck wants to carry around a billion CDs anyways? Maybe, I just have a bad back? I mean, I really enjoy having to peal the CD away from the plastic insert in my Caselogic when it is 100 degrees outside in Fucking Hell, TX.
Ableton’s engineers are hard
at work developing code that will allow our software to predict the future, but we don’t
anticipate having this available until at least the next major release.
