don't forget follow actions. it took me a couple hours how to learn, but follow actions can do some really good random chopping. you get much more control over things than with supatrigga. of course the negative is that it takes a little to set things up...duplicating clips, changing start points, etc. but in the long run its worth it.
also, never underestmate duplicating an effect in series (as others have already mentioned). 2 or 3 supatriggas in a row with different settings let you control parameters with more accuracy. that way you can give different quantize settings (1/8, 1/32, etc) and effects (slow, reverse, etc) different % chance of occuring.

that'll get you started. the gist is to take a loop and give it certain settings in the clip view's launch section: trigger mode legato, quantize small (like 1/16), set follow actions to a small increment too (again, 1/16), and set the follow action to whatever you want (but start with *: any). then duplicate that clip several times in your track, and change the start point of each clip on grid. launch any of the clips, and live will randomly jump around from clip to clip (or whatever follow action you've set). you can then set follow action ratios to tend toward playing the original loop more often than the ones where you moved the start point. then you can reverse a clip or two, pitch em down, turn the volume all the way down on one...whatever ya want. the only catch is the smallest increment for the jump is i think 1/16, so if you want anything smaller, throw a beat repeat in with a low % chance and tighter repeat quantize.
