Ahhh, sorry mate, Melbourne down under, not Melbourne Florida. You're still welcome though, but airfares are really expensive to Australia!

yeah I'm using Robert's visit as a perfect chance to meet up, get emails and kick start the Brissie one

I've already been trying to organise it from scratch but this will be a perfect chance to meet other users and get hyped about a regular meet

found some info

MONOLAKE + ANDY VAZ @ MAKE IT UP CLUB
February 7th 2006
Robert Henke [monolake] and Andy Vaz at the Make It Up Club

8.30pm:
Andy Vaz and Steve Law
Andy Vaz is label manager for electronic music label Background Records from Dusseldorf. In recent years he has been developing his own music and in 2004 - 2005 released the acclaimed SoundVariation series of 12"s.
He is set to release a 2 x 12" set on his imprint [vazbit] in the coming months. He will be improvising with Steve Law from Melbourne who, among many things, is a big fan of the SoundVariation series.

9.30pm.
The Terminal Quartet with special guest Robert Henke.
Robert Henke returns to Melbourne for this the second of two performances in 2006.

Performing as a guest of the Terminal Quartet Robert will be improvising with Andrew Garton, Paul Abad, Ollie Olsen and Ross Bencina.

Robert is a computer musician most noted for releases as Monolake. Robert has also released several solo works on Imbalance Computer Music.
Robert is a founding member and a principal developer of Ableton Live the revolutionary computer music performance software that has risen to
prominence in recent years.

The Terminal Quartet, founded by Andrew Garton and comprised of a unique combination of performers for each piece, performs structured improvisations.
Participants research and arrange individual movements in isolation from each other as governed by the context and structure of Garton's compositions.
On the occasion of the Quartet's 5th performance, it will transform into a Quintet bringing together a rare combination of electronic composers, sound artists and programmers performing at the Make It Up Club, 7 February 2006.
