the one in microtonic can be turned off, so it works both ways. its a quick way to get random patterns/noise going (with the randomize feature)...

yeah, it's just not for me, man.
I quickly start wanting advanced seq. behaviour that it won't provide, and then I'd have to redo the pattern in another sequencer... bah. So it kinda annoyed me to see the friggin thing all the time, tbh, and I think it's a hopeless waste of real estate
But then again, microtonic doesn't have a lot of *parameters* to fill up the gui, so it's probably for the best

Another vote for Drumular here too.
I played around with the beta for a bit, then found that those 'playing arounds' were rapidly turning into tunes, the sounds just seem to sit in a mix better than Microtonic.
The Additive module is totally unique.
It's the best thing I've spent 25 quid on in ages.

do you ever find that clicking a pad rapidly while audition is on produces variations in the tones that drumular is generating? i'm pretty sure that it's not just in my head, but i've certainly been wrong before. not that i'm particularly worried about it; just trying to understand how it works and all.

Damn! I just discovered some more free Odo drum VSTs.. DR-Fusion & DR-Fusion2, they have 400/500 samples built in and also synthetic modules and fx like bitcrushers.
I programmed some stuff with the Drumular providing the basis: kick-snare-claps, and the Odo drum synths doing hats & metallic percussion on top. Sounding really phat!

cant speak for drumatic, sounds great. but ..
microtonic is one of my favorite VSTs of any kind, i use it constantly,
not only for the great drum sounds and recording loops out of it but for the
killer electro stabs, toms and bass parts its giving me
i definitely think having the step sequencer inside is an advantage, its a quick intuitive way to generate loops of all kinds right on the interface, then record the audio into Live for further manipulation
but it all depends on how you like to work i guess. drumatic not having one is a minus for me, not a plus. but if yall are saying its so great theres probably something to it ..

Not Drumatic - Drumular!
Hopefully there will be soon be more VST ports to Mac now that they're Intel, you guys are missing out on a lot of good sounds!
