Ha, ha... cool! But what about 5.1? Will it be supported in 5.2? You know, we're quite some ppl that could use a Vector X-Y Panner plug-in (or whatever you decide to call that functionality). Such thingy could be used for 3D positioning of sound in a four speaker sound field, but also for other things depending on where you send those four outputs.

honestly there will be "no" other features as the support for Intel-Mac and bugfixes.

Does anyone know exactly what bugs have been fixed in this bug fix?

guys, it clearly not a bug fix per se.

there might be some unexpected bug fixes, but 5.2 is in essence a mac-intel ready release ... that's it. expect no more then that.

Great - so it's an update for less than an estimated 100 users with the cash to upgrade their underperforming hardware AND software! Mustering as much sour grapes as I can what use is this? What about those running PPC Macs? What about those running PC's w/WinXP? I'd imagine both user groups somewhat massively outnumber the tiny minority who will be gleefully rushing to the Apple store to buy into Job's new venture?

Looking forward to the bug fixes but I gotta say whoever came up with this plan, and dedicated man hours to the recompile when the Bugs & Problems is chocka block, really needs to reprioritise as they've got things somewhat arse about tit.

MacIntel support should've been v6 - dual proc, increased app efficiency and stability (as in 4.14) should be in 5.2. I'm sorry to say it but the premise of releasing a screwed up 5, to get the pennies into the coffers, and then releasing a dedicated update primarily to support a tiny percentage of the userbase whilst promising 'it'll get better in v6' for everyone else does NOT inspire confidence in the companies regard for it's users.

Christ, can't you people read?

The guy clearly said the release will be, in addition to macintel support, a bugfix.
In addition to the new Intel-Mac support, Live 5.2 will also be released as a free bug-fix update for users running Live 5 on non-Intel Macs or Windows computers.

It says "a free bug-fix update for users running Live 5 on non-Intel Macs or Windows computers." so how do you come up with:
"but 5.2 is in essence a mac-intel ready release ... that's it. expect no more then that"

or
"so it's an update for less than an estimated 100 users with the cash to upgrade their underperforming hardware AND software!"
WTF? Again, do you read or do you just look for reasons to complain? Man, I can totally relate to a lot of the problems I read on here but its like some people just look for any reason to bitch and moan.

Much human progress has been made simply by bitching and moaning. Reading came later :D

Smutek - sorry if I seemed harsh. I have to remember that different folks have different priorities. Maybe it is an inability to read but, after re-reading the blurb, it's merely dashed hopes for a amazing uberfixed slick as fuck update for our favourite software I'm afraid. When you get a good thing you always want more

Well, I'm curious too. I think I read somewhere that the beta is coming out soon, so a lot of questions will be answered then.

Yeah well as people above have stated I might not have read the Alex post in detail.

But this is only the first gen of macintels, I bet they won't leave it at this. In the future all macs will be intels. It's not bad idea to port asap then is it?

And apparently there will be overall bugfixes too...

(not that I have much trouble using 5 *runs away scared of being tormented*)
