ANYONE LIVE NEAR TRAINS?
Sometimes, deep into the night, I hear a train whistle(more ike a horn really). But I don't live near any train tracks, I'm sure of it. I think it might be some sort of ghost train.

there are more than a few pc laptops with 6 pin firewire, do some research if you want one. but as others said, a whole new computer is not necessary--the ups sounds like a smart fix to me.

My apartment is in a warehouse that has tons of power surges and brown-outs. My gear is all connected to a UPS that is plugged into a power conditioner. I'm certain that without this combination, my gear would be useless to me.
I live near a train, also, BUT it's not close enough to affect anything "electronically" unless you count my microphone picking it up.
