iTunes for me... I use winamp mostly in windows since iTunes for windows is SO SLOW.....
I think with iTunes, you need to learn how to make use of both party shuffle and smart playlists, then it becomes your friend.
I have a smart playlist that is all music (that is anything that's not a podcast) that hasn't been listened to in the last month, called "Long time no listen". Then I get party shuffle to play from "Long time no listen". I can select an album at any time and play it next in the party shuffle, which will then return to random songs when the album is finished.... it's kind of like a hybrid shuffle/live playlist.
The only thing that shits me in iTunes is that you cannot right click an Album, Artist or Genre.... so you can't right click an Album and go to "Play next in party shuffle", you have to right click on all the songs and go to "Play next in party shuffle". A minor grievance, but annoying nonetheless.

In the main Library view click Browse (where the Burn icon is when you're viewing a playlist), then you can drag albums from the list.

Winamp 3 was the best audo playback app ever.
It could even decode .xm's and .it's , s3m's , ANYTHING!
(i use itunes, hoping there's something better in the future)
problem with itunes is.. for people that download and delete a lot, the library system messes things up
thx,
