cOOL S.dub! Enjoy it! I can see where it might be dissapointing for some, but it really does well for what I am doing with it, and it looks so sweet next to the lappy. Hopefully it won't crap out on me for a loooong time.

Is it true that Novation needs Ableton's help for the automapping?

If that is the case, I can see why the Abe's haven't done it yet, they are still getting 5.2 together, and will probably release the official version around the same time the automapping is available. I can't imagine the automapping and 5.2 official releases being that far away now. Lets hope I'm not wrong. Either way, it might be the deciding factor for some folks, while others may just be looking for a new controller. Exciting times, all these choices.

dbolt, why the rolling eyes? did i sound like a fanboy? hahahha sorry// I think korg is on to something. The new Pad Kontrol thingy looks pretty cool, and I imagine the navigational mouse-like joystick will be very cool on those new keyboard controllers. It's interesting to watch these companies modifying their products to keep up with the times.

I read somewhere (the SL manual?) that one way to program in automapping for a plug in is to put the SL into listen mode then start up the plug-in and it listens for the parameters or sumthin sumthin like that. So, I think the Abes just have to put the hooks into Live then the SL will sniff them out and we're good to go. I kind of skipped over the automap sections.

I know from the experience from Kontrol 49 users not to wait for features to come out for anything, companies lie all the time, Korg hasn't updated the Kontrol 49 firmware in like a year, the BCR's editing software is still in beta (and it's a freaking .jar java app, that doesn't work on my XP Pro PC WTF?!). It's also good to make sure any sound card you buy already has the right drives on the web, or you're pretty much screwed waiting for an eternity.

I'll just be stoked when I get a laptop and I'm sitting in the corner of a cafe jamming out 285 BPM gabba beats. gabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabbagabba

(I hate gabba, it's just fun to say over and over again.... must be Friday!! :D fuck yeah...)

Interesting...doesn't sound that difficult then.. Hope the Abe's are paying attention to these Sl-25 threads.

That's why I said never buy anything with a promise attached, if that promise is the reason why you buy. I wonder how korg will do with the Oasys updates, and that' an $8000+ keyboard. I am glad not to be in that boat, well, would be nice to have one...
