I also wish it wasn't so expensive in europe compared to the US.
well, if you go to the feature summary it will give you the dimensions:
http://www.motu.com/products/motuaudio/ ... tures.html
8.5" wide x 7" deep... and i'm guessing it's as high as a 1U rack unit (1.75").
i almost wish this had come out sooner, so i could've bought this instead of the Traveller. i use my Traveller primarily for laptop DJing, and while it's really compact, i just feel like there's a lot on there i won't really use too often, and i could've saved $200 bucks. oh well though... still badass

Can anyone check the following please ?
1) can you control internal mixer faders via midi ?
if yes:
2) does any fader a fixed midi value/channel or can you assign it as you prefer ?
Thanks a lot.

Well, speaking as someone who has the Presonus Firepod also, I would go with the Ultralite.

I can't find a price for the fireface 400 how much is that running in USD$$$?
It seems that the RME and MOTU are very similar, is there really an audible difference in sound quality?

According to the RME press release, "Available during May, the Fireface 400 will retail at a price below €900" - don't know about $, sorry.

I got an ULTRALITE last night and am getting a lot of pops and crackle when only using two tracks. Yes, I've adjusted the buffer/latency settings and it keeps happening randomly, usually when I record onto an AUDIO TRACK (the track plays back really shitty). It isn't a consistent thing, but it happens regularly enough that if I don't figure out that I'm missing something soon it's going back to the store....anyone else have this with a MOTU piece?
when it happens, no matter how much I mess with the buffer setting it won't go away until i adjust the setting to near the highest latency possible, then the timing of the playback gets screwed.....
BTW using an INTEL 740 1.73 GHZ centrino....

sounds like a similar issue to mine....when i use DX drivers its really crackling in both abelton and FL studio. when i try the motu asio driver (which is what i want to use) i get no audio at all except out of the headphone jack. i have sent an email to tech support this morning, we'll see what happens.

check your ASIO configuration and make sure you open the ASIO panel and have MOTU "main outs" box "checked" as an output...
yeah i was having fun until the crackle, then I'm like "zero latency" with a free bitcrusher effect on every sound!!!! Great. What a bargain. I don't remember reading about the free bitcrusher effect on the website....
guess they just threw that in as a surprise bonus!!!!

BTW I only had two/three tracks and the LIVE CPU meter never rose above 30%
it did sound great when it WAS working though!!!
my old tracks took on a new life!!!!
sad....maybe i'm doing something wrong/missing something here. i hope so. If not i'll trade it for an EMU or RME fireface 400 when that comes out.......(I should've waited for the RME....)
