USUALLY (not all the time, but usually), cheaper + more features = not as good, especially if the two products are by the same manufacturer. if something has less features, it usually (not all the time, again) means that more of its design is dedicated to those fewer features. next time you see a band play, look to see how many multi-effect processors their guitar players have. more often than not, instead of one pedal that does everything, they'll have like, 20 pedals the each specialize in one specific thing, unless their name is billy corgan, in which case they'll have like ten eventide 3500s. buuuut, if you're on a budget, sometimes you have no choice but to go with the cheaper + more features option.

I agree with Snowtires. I'd get the ultragain unit, unless there's some reason you'd want to have multiple ins. It doesn't sound like you do though, so just swoop that ultragain piece.

Oh... if you're buying that from a shop, take the mic with you and see if they'll let you check it before you buy. I'm a little surprised at your mic levels to say the least... it could be a prob with the mic too.
