mikemc wrote:hey, there's a friend of mine that wants to know if one can get in trouble (or get the venue in trouble) if he posts flyers for a gig in random places in DC (on streetlamp poles and traffic light boxes on corners, for example), and/or if that is not the most effective way to advertise. If anyone could let me know, I will let him know.
don't do it. it's ineffective compared to other things you can do with the time it would take. there is a reason that dc isn't plastered like this(we used to do it when i was a kid in the 80's)-they will find you through the venue posted on the flyers.

Journalistic license, i guess... the Black Cat schedule *does* say 'hosted by 302acid'... 'Black Cat hosts a bunch...' was not the most accurate way to convey.

all in all it really is a positive writeup, check these adjectives: 'smart', 'hot', 'trippy, 'rocks', 'out-there', 'fun', 'dance-floor quakers' (uh, of course, the booming kind, not the buckle-hat kind)...

and DK, could be worse, at least you're not 'baby-faced'  ... just kidding, ross...

i just hate it when all a venue does is supply a room for a steep fee and takes credit for the musicians work.
*that's a dj's job! 8O
OH NO YOU DIDN'T! 8O

*just kidding, hugs all around-
in fact, the city paper fucked up too and listed me as a dj....
guess i'll raise my guarantee :P

Great show guys. Big up DK for hooking it up.
The recording came out excellent, 1.3GB of live music. Will send an email to all with instructions on how to download the file from a dedicated server.
Cheers.
