"Any producer who already owns a controller keyboard or two knows that the appearance of another one on the market isn’t always a welcome treat. However, Novation’s ReMOTE (25/37/61) SL keyboards boast some of the most revolutionary and downright irresistible features in MIDI controlling to date, namely the giant LCD screens and the revolutionary Automap™ technology. As such, those individuals have certainly considered purchasing an additional set of keys, just to get “the jump on the future” of MIDI controlling.

Well, Novation have resolved any doubts with their latest offering. The ZeRO SL is a first for the company and a move away from an instrument or all-in-one controller keyboard towards a focussed control surface. Additionally, the removal of keys brings with it a large reduction in cost, which makes the ZeRO SL the most affordable way to experience the benefits of Novation’s Automap™ technology.

In conjunction with Automap™, the ZeRO SL offers a huge amount of assignable controls, including 8 musically-responsive trigger pads. All of these are pre-programmed in 32 Manual Templates onboard the unit, so that the SL works with the most popular software instruments, whether Automapping or not. A stylish Template Editor software package is also included, allowing quick and easy construction or modification of Manual and Automap Templates, through the selection of named parameters, rather than arduously looking up MIDI data.

With all of these features combined in one compact and extremely portable device, the ReMOTE ZeRO SL is a highly desirable control surface for studio and live performances alike. Sitting at an elevated angle, the ZeRO SL fits neatly behind a querty keyboard for quick access and minimum space consumption. Whether wanting to taste the future of MIDI controlling or just acquiring a comprehensive control surface for tailoring to a specific need, the ZeRO SL is the perfect choice for anyone into music creation, from complete beginners to the consummate pro.

Price and availability
ZeRO SL is due May/June and will retail for £229 inc VAT in the UK"

looks like physically it's a pretty deep unit, designed to fit behind a keyboard and all...great for the studio, but a bit of a bummer it's not smaller for live use...
imagine a lappy sitting behind it.....
on the other hand, the height and angle might make it a bit more ergonomic....

Novation are a really honorable company as well, really good luck dealing with them about a broken X-Station.

The only thing I'm not sold on with the SL series is the lack of motorized faders, only reason to keep the Behringer around, and the reason THIS is what I'm going to wait on for a hopefully final solution to the controller chase.

Don't bother trying to look at larger images of it though, piss poor web designer didn't make them web ready.........

there is a music store here that had the last line of cme stuff, it felt amazing, excellent weighted action on the larger key models.... seemed extremely well built.... but was very, very heavy (nice wood casing)

Beijing, China is where CME hail from. It's communist marketing at it's best IMO. Take every thing that a person would want in a controller, and put it all in one product, and make it out of steel and hardwood!

Well I'm looking at my desk right now, and wondering what I would pay to get rid of the three devices that the CME would replace X-Station, Behringer BDF2000, and AKAI MPD16..... hopefully it works well, if it does, then I'm happy, just the CME and a laptop for live shows! :)

i had heard that the same place manufactures cme and kurzwiel products...
any idea if this is true?
another nice thing i recall was that the cme stuff was actually very reasonably priced,
with multiple module and interface options.
those new versions really are packed!

Sorry, I cant abide CME on what a clusterf**k they made of the whole Bitstream 3x situation. Supposed to be out in November, now waiting until July, maybe, if the planets align...

No response to multiple email inquiries over 6 months= lousy customer service.
