right. in answer to glitchrock.

I demo'ed Ozone and T-Racks at the same time and I must say... I liked Ozone better. Once you get your head around the interface it sorta makes sense.
Sound On Sound magazine did a comparison of some limiters and it scored well. I've been waiting for about a year now for an upgrade or a price drop but no dice. I guess the best deal is the bundle offer for just $50 more you get Trash and Spectron too.

Ya that bundle looks good. Thanks for that.

I'll have to wait and see about a universal binary version I guess. Could be a nice addition to my setup.

im not surprised there bundling spectron and trash for only 50 bucks more now when they sell for 129 and 199 individually.....cause when i demoed them i was not impressed at all.....seeing that ozone is pretty good i was surprised....same developers?......they all have the same gui which is cool for consistency in learning them and lots of clinical control,..but for their original price points i really dont get it.....average freeware sounded better to me

Maybe their are some freeware that sounds almost the same and that is why like you said above for paid software you get more like a nice GUI and consistency in learning them and that also means their is alot under the hood to learn and use. I'm not even a Professional but most freeware just doesn't do it for me. I guess I'm more of a purist and love Hardware and the paid software barley does it for me sometimes. Don't get me wrong I love Reaktor for its grooveboxes and some synths and other softsynths but they just don't quite cut it and so Freeware for the most part I haven't used much out their. So if anyone wants to prove me wrong point me to something very unique and free and steps up to the plate with some good shit.

Can't say I've really figured it out 100%. I've read the manual many times and there's a lot of info in there. A lot of people complain about the GUI but they built it that way on purpose--when you think about it the concept of a knob you turn doesn't make any sense on a computer screen if you're using a mouse. But the bit display on the dither screen is pointless without a doubt.

I'm also surprised at the comments that it's CPU hungry. I only have a Win2000 system with a 2GHz Pentium 4 and it just breezes along. Certainly; it's not typically intended to be used as an insert in a DAW; I use it in the Plug In Chainer in Sound Forge so I have control over the transport and such while it's active. (If you just insert Ozone as an effect it locks out the other controls).

Say what? Trash totally rocks imo. I actually think Spectron is pretty cool as well, though I haven't felt the need to buy it.
