Well, there's the Faderfox....
i like the idea of the Faderfox, but the lack of USB and the fact that each one has to be plugged into a power source just doesnt make me want to buy one.
Who wants USB when you have MIDI? Faderfoxes can also run with batteries.
would ytou happen to know how long the batteries last?
Self-hating american.

I can only speak for the LX1. Those batteries lasted about a year.
Compared to an LX2 with all the lights.. I would guess it runs about 6 months. But only time will tell that

the bummer with batteries is how the performance of the device is affected as they run out. Would hate to think how I'd be if they died mid-performance at a gig.

It's a curious idea, but the no price/website been-around-awhile puts me off a bit.

I saw them here at the store in a glass case.
Of all the gear in the world the BCR is the best bang for your buck of anything. The thread title sucks IMO, no matter what the mawzer does it'll be too expensive. For the same money I could set up BCRs and BCFs to do the same things AND put a hooker under the DJ's table during the gig.

What if your laptop runs out mid-gig?
Or does that get the same AC power my Faderfox gets?

It has a "low battery" warning. If you see this during a gig, you still have an hour or so left...
