Thanks
great

here are some numbers:

Live 5 - 40% on performance test, without the .kext fix (see performance test thread)
Live 5 - 30% on performance test, WITH .kext fix

Live 6 Alpha - 25% without the fix
Live 6 Alpha - 18% with the fix

(but without the fix the speedstepping turns off once i get to about 65%, so it can be pushed just as far with or without the fix in Live 6, good for battery life.)

#'s are subject to change, this is just the alpha.

Screenshot #4

Time to jump into Macro's...

Notice that the names on the Macro knobs can be user assigned.
Also notice in the Macro Mappings (top left) box, that the minimum and maximum values are listed and can be altered, or inverted. So you can have one Macro knob controlling the pan on 4 sounds, but sound one could be from L15 to R30, sound two could be from L1 to R3, sound three could be inverted with R20 to L15, etc.

there is also an option to instantly invert mappings of one or multiple selected assignments. simply right click on them in the Macro Mappings box, and the only left click option you have is "invert mappings"

Screenshot #5

Quicktime movie import

video window can be positioned anywhere on the screen (and on a 2nd screen!) and is freely resizable. stays on top no matter where you are navigating in Live. The audio within the video is treated like an audio track. Warpable and can be automated/effected as usual.

so with the quicktime track...since the audio is warpable/editable, i'm assuming live creates an asd to go with the .mov file. can live re-export the quicktime file with your audio edits or will we still need another app to marry the live-modified audio to the quicktime file?
and thanks for your work on this btw, the screenshots are helpful...

Thanks Adam.

Im really looking forward to trying out Sampler. It looks nice and complex, perfect to spend weeks playing with. I never really liked Kontakt or NNXT so Im hoping Sampler will be my kinda thing. So far Im optimistic.

Personally I think, at least by the looks of things, Sampler is a much better investment than the EIC, considering it will be able to load up thousands of already available multisamples, many of which are either free, or great value.

If you get time would you post a shot of the EIC please. im curious wether or not it has an interface which allows one to edit the samples contained.

womoma

i think there is some confusion.

EIC is a collection of sounds. there is no interface for it.
it can be loaded into Simpler and played from Simpler
it can also be loaded into Sampler and played AND altered in Sampler.

i will put together some shots of the various pages of Sampler though

here's a screenshot of the latest alpha (DISCLAIMER: its an Alpha, things change... this may very well look different once the beta drops, or when the final release is ready)

and warning, its big about 1900x1000 pixels or so.

This screenshot shows the new Sampler instrument, loaded with a Kontakt library (funkstorung!) from Synthetic Drums Vol. 2.
It also shows the NEW MIXER look.
which is totally resizable, not just horizontally but you will see vertically as well.

included in the new mixer is a numerical field to manually type in your value (-6.7dB for instance). Also a numerical indicator as to what your peaks are in a track. When they cross 0dB they appear yellow, when they do not they appear grey.

Note Length, EQ8 (and its Right/Left independent eq capabilities), Saturator's Waveshaper, Utility's new look, and Sampler's modulation page are also shown.

I'll be posting more screen shots soon.

so .. here it is:

and scroll through the thread for more screenshots...
I'm very glad you're on the Alpha team, Adam.

Does the video work in Session View & can you save them like .alc's?
