Admit it! You read the Eventide review in this months Future music and are wanting a warez VST to do it with instead of dropping the 8 grand on the hardware ;)

We run both the Eventide h8000a and software plugins ...

Plugin like the waves one is good just sound quailty isnt really the best. however the eventide can do its 'own' thing if not programmed right.

it depends on the application .. VST's are obviously easier to work with .. however nothing beats the eventide for sound ...

and as said before by someone on here. the eventide's are much more than just a pitch shifter ...

hmmm ring-mod eh.... Thanx for the clarification, is why I threw my bit in,
knew the Eventide did pitched delays but really thought the heart of it was
combining 2 audio streams using a multiply, and that the pitch was the
pitch of an osc that was getting multiplied into the stream.

A good raga by Hariprasad Chaurasia and Zakir Hussein,.....
u heard that Zakir Hussein album where he's playing with effects, delays
and stuff?..... No idea what it's called... Pretty adventurious for a classical
indian player.... One track has him clapping and playing into a held delay
which he builds and builds.... Simple yet so cool to hear someone like him
doing.

A fun cheezy free one is the pitch control AU from Apple -- not very flexible, but kind of fun. Guitar through that and a fuzz box can get you a nice Tubular Bells guitar sound...
