They'd do like they did throughout the 70s and 80s and buy weapons from the Russians behind the US's back.subterFUSE wrote:And what do you think would happen to Israel if the US didn't provide support?
OT Bush calls Lebanon A new front for global war on terror

The U.S. gives 6 billion a year for this.
I don't call it protection. I call it terrorism.

The saga never ends
I agree, maybe discussing solutions rather than problems would be more interesting
I'm willing to bet Bush is going to say and do at least 42 more really stupid things before some other idiot is in the white house and says his hands are tied because BUSH screwed it up and he's going to make at least 35 stupid decisions people are going to get all bent out of shape about
and then the guy after him will make at least 98 really bad decisions
then the guy after him
then the guy after him
we'll be dead before the woman in office actually makes the right decisions
perhaps my grandkids will be BETA TESTING LIVE 106 before it's all good again - BTW I heard the slicer is scheduled for LIVE 106
anyways, carry on - point fingers and blame but really I don't think George is an active member of the Ableton Forum
actually he might be, you never know

No Jew or Israeli wants to cut the head off of my Prime Minister.
No Jew or Israeli wants to destroy the Canadian economy.
No Jew or Israeli wants to blow up 10 aircraft in the sky (possibly with my family aboard).
No Jew or Israeli wants to force me to pay the Jizyah.
No Jew or Israeli wants to put my mom in a burkah.
No Jew or Israeli wants to stone my girlfriend and I because we live together outside of marriage.
No Jew or Israeli wants to hang my friend for being gay.
No Jew or Israeli wants to ban women from getting an education.
No Jew or Israeli wants me to be his Dhimmi and force me to submit to Sharia.
As far as I see it, Israel is the first and foremost defender of my freedom to not be subjected to a theocratic nightmare at the hands of some wacko religionists who have corrupted Islam. I'm glad Israel is well funded and well armed.

the children are our only hope. I suppose people have been saying this for hundreds of years.

Yeah they keep putting the future on the kids but at some point most kids discover what it means to want and covet stuff
then the problem begins
who wants to give up their Chocolate phone, nice house, Xbox and turntables for some people they don't know half way across the country
Shit I didn't even know they had electricity in the middle east until recently
basically the kids are the future, yes but as long as capitalism is king the future aint really gonna give a shit
and if they do and decide to work from the inside (i.e. politician, civic leader, lawyer etc) they may become corrupt or no one will listen to them
or they go around knocking on doors pissing hardworking people off during dinner and South Park
the only way for real change is a revolution - the only thing someone like Bush understands is force
Politics and verbal discussions bring about more politics and verbal discussions and so on and so on and so on
but again, I'm not giving up my phone for someone elses revolution <-- thats the problem - you have to have everyone involved to make it happen otherwise
you're
just
a
terrorists
that's messed up

This may well be, but the problem is that Israel is violently advancing an unfair and racist agenda that we are supporting, which in turn encourages terrorists to attack us. That is not to say that Israel does not have a right to exist, or that Israel deserves to be attacked, nor is it to say that the PLO or Hezbollah are innocent - they are not. The point is that Israel, much like the US, has a foreign policy that helps to keep certain other populations in a state of chaos, poverty, suffering, and oppression - and this creates conditions which are easily exploited by extremists such as Islamic terrorist organizations. So, while no Jew/Israeli may want to do the horrible things to YOU, they are doing their own horrible things to others and we support it, which in turns leads leads to those "others" wanting to do those horrible things.M. It seems to me that leaders on nearly every side are fogetting that WE ALL LIVE ON THIS PLANET TOGETHER!!!! As even the Swiss-German death metal band Sameal came to realize, "You cannot win if someone lost."
I'd bet that if Israel was willing to truly co-exit peacefully with Palestine and it's Arab neighbors, it probably wouldn't stop the attacks on Israel, but it would certainly engender the support of the rest of the free world, which would put an end to the attacks. The UN has offered any times to serve as a peace-keeping force in the area, but Israel consistenly turns them down because they themselves are in breach of several UN regulations re: Palestine. And there it is.
Well I'm glad you have your priorities sorted.M. Bréqs wrote:Well, I know what side of the bread my butter is on...glu wrote:The U.S. gives 6 billion a year for this.

You make some big assumptions here. Have you ever spent much time in Isreal?
There are certain parts of isreal where you have to be have your legs and arms covered, and where a kippah otherwise you may get things thrown at you! Sure, you arent likely to be stoned to death, but their idealogies are not that different.
Can you not see how wrong the actions of the state of isreal are toward its neighbours? You seriously think that the rights of isreali people are above those of the lebanese and palestinians?????
We are all people just trying to get on with out lives, being fucked over both by our politicians and the loud and angry minorities.
(BTW I am half isreali before anyone accuses me of being anti-whatever)
This is about as assinine a comment as I've ever heard...putting Bush in the same category with Muslim terrorists is just plain stupidityHaselmeier wrote:Just sit and wait:

I think the people of Israel have the right to not worry about terrorist activities in their country and when Lebannon and Palestine harbor these freaks and act as a safehaven for them, then I believe Israel has the right to go in and target them and wipe them out...absolutely!...more power to them if these countries don't take it upon themselves to rid their own country of these whack jobs cutting off heads in the name of their God...that's no God I want to know about!elemental wrote:Can you not see how wrong the actions of the state of isreal are toward its neighbours?
