my favorite WAS Watneys Red Barrel Pale Ale at one time, but I haven't been able to find it in the states anymore for the last 5-7 years...this beer was responsible for my just 'average' grades during college :roll:

favorite beer now is BASS

but I'd honestly have to say the absolute best beer I've ever had was the wheat beer (Hefeweizen) that I've had on tap in Germany the two times I've been there Stuttgart/Hanover/Hamburg. I've tried to find something comparable to that taste and have never come close yet here in the states.
