There was a TV special last year on the JFK Assassination... maybe on Discovery? Can't remember exactly.

They used modern forensic science and physics to prove that the "magic bullet" theory was, in fact, correct.

They showed that the magic bullet did not zig-zag, but actually went straight. Previous analysis of the sitting positions for Kennedy and Connelly was incorrect.

It was pretty interesting. They also used advanced video analysis on the Zapruder film. Analysis which could not have been done in the 1960s during the Warren Commission investigation.

A Discovery Channel special Unsolved History: JFK - Beyond the Magic Bullet atempted to replicate, as well as possible, the conditions of that day. The participants set up blocks of ballistics gel with a substance similar to human bone inside. These studies showed that largely undeformed bullets were possible to produce, if they were slowed by a passage though a tissue-like substance before striking bone. Next, two mannequin figures made of ballistic anatomical substances (animal skin, gelatin, and interior bone-like cast) were set up in the exact relative position of JFK and Connally. A marksman, from a distance equal to that of the sixth floor of the book depository building, fired the same rifle model found in the Book Depository, using a round from the same batch of the same "Western Case Cartridge Company" 6.5x52 mm ammunition purchased with the surplus Carcano weapon in early 1963 (and three expended brass from which was found with the weapon, in the book depository Nov. 22, 1963). The path of their single bullet (followed by high speed photography) duplicated, almost exactly, the wounds suffered by the victims that day, the only difference being that the bullet did not quite have enough energy to penetrate the "thigh" substance in front of the Connally figure, due to striking an extra bone in the "rib" model (i.e., it fractured 2 ribs in the model vs. one rib in Connally).

yea, i saw that too and have been fact checking a lot of what was mentioned. no holes so far, but i'm still not sure what to make of it.

Whilst I'm suspicious of buying into the conspiracy theories completely, I certainly don't buy the official explanations of what happned on September the 11th. Considering how much the US Government has profited from it across the board, the motive at least is obvious. As for JFK, I think it was clear that he was a political assassination.

As for 9-11, any of those crackpot theories can be picked apart in 15 seconds by someone with a bit of common sense.

I still think that the claim of national security is used for doing whatever they see fit. It was used during the whole JFK thing, there is still information about the assasination that hasn't been released to the public yet.
