I haven't seen any drop outs on *cough* live 4. So there's problems with 6? Damn, I was actually planning on upgrading this time. Hopefully this will be sorted soon.

Actually, the presets aren't bad. There's a lot you can do just by tweaking. Some of the patches are pretty CPU intensive, but I can also run a fairly simple bass and lead and only hit 11%, which ain't bad.

I've found this much easier than most fixed synths to try to create new sounds, as you can start with a blank sheet (or systematically disable various modules) and really tell what happening to the sound at each stage. With fixed synths, it can sometimes be hard to tell how it's wired up.

There is a FAQ page which tells you the most basic info you need to cobble something together. And I hear a manual's on the way.

yes karma fx is a gem. i would always get drop-outs when setting sample playback mode and stopping the sequencer. had to deactivate/reactivate continuously.

it's great for loading up drum loops and automating sample start/playback/delta. instant glitchness. the filters sound good to my ears and i think the routing is the easiest of all the modulars.

if he can fix the bugs and maybe improve the inbuilt "sequencer" he'll have a real winner.
