Send an email to [email protected] and tell them about your problem. Upgrade from live lite to 5.2 (then free upgrade to 6) at usd 249 no longer an option. This offer supposedly ended on October 31.
Turn up the radio. Turn up the tape machine. Look into the sunset up ahead. Roll the windows down for a better taste of the cool desert wind. Ah yes. This is what it's all about. Total control now.

Even though I did not unlock Live 5 until August 19, they will not provide the free Live 6 upgrade to me. I originally purchased an upgrade to Live 5 in March - but continued using Live 4 and did not unlock Live 5 until August. Now they will not provide the upgrade I was promised.

They state: "Buy Live 5 now and get a free downloadable upgrade to Live 6! This offer is valid to all users who unlock their full version of Live 5 after July 14 and before October 31."

It does not say "purchase after July 14" - it says "unlock after July 14."

This is their reply regarding the special pricing for live lite before 31st october.

"I am very sorry but the free upgrade is only for users who unlocked their FULL version of Live 5 between July 15, 2006 and October 31, 2006. As you have a special version of Live you are eligible to upgrade to Live 6 for 269 EUR/299 USD (download) or 349 EUR/399 USD + shipping (boxed). If you are interested please go to https://www.ableton.com/shop

If there are further questions please let us know."

:?:

I'm pretty sure the website used to say that the usd 249 pricing was for live lite upgrade, could anyone confirm???

boo @ ableton, ripping us off those who saved them bandwidth by not upgrading and downloading live 5 but choosing to wait till live 6 comes out.

Oh well, I'll go and sweat out another $50 for a days work..

yah, i feel a bit sour regarding this...
spending this amount of cash here in south america is not easy. I could pay my rent for a month and have spare cash with usd300.

It look like the developers and beta-testing team did a better job than the marketing team...

A lot of confusion around udgrade option...

I hope they will make it easier and more precise in the next days!!!

i'm having problems as well.
i purchased live a couple months ago and was assured I would have the upgrade for free.

When I try to login, however, it doesn't recognise me ... .i'm not sure what's going on here. and I emailed support but they wont get back to me

Hi Jyoti,

The support team will get back to you as soon as possible. There was a peak in the mailing to the support, in relationship to the release, so it takes just a little more time than usual to answer the mails.

Thanks a lot for your patience.

Regards,
Amaury

I am still waiting as well. I got one response very quickly stating I was ineligible because my unlock date was too soon. Their system seems to be recognizing my purchase date as the unlock date instead of the date I actually unlocked the software. I wrote back to them, but I still haven't received a response. This is very frustrating, but hopefully they will get it worked out soon.

huffcw,

please see the above posting from Amaury. It explains why it currently could take longer than usual to get feedback from our support.

Now i'm sure there is something wronge concerning my account. It seems that i don't have the, should be available, free upgrade to Live 6.
hmmm...

Mine shows the free upgrade to 6, but nothing about the $120 upgrade for the box with EIC, which is what I want.

:?:
Me too! Same exact deal. I'm going to wait on the FREE download until I'm 100% positive I can get the EIC & boxed version for $120. I'm going to snag sampler too.

The boxed version upgrade ($100+) was available a few days ago, now there's now option. So I just did the free upgrade.

But I want the box, manual, stickers, AND EIC!!! What do I do now? Where'd that option go? You changed the website!
