the headphone out is on the end opposite where the usb cable goes in.

i had trubbs with routing two of the outs to it tho so just use the RCA's with a suitable cable as the headphone out.

i should have another play. in xp this might work out better. beware in xp you'd need to buy the asio drivers. macosx just uses the native usb driver.

re the mixer. yep you could do that. the trouble with that is that you rely on being able to set that up if you play out. with somat like the uc33/bcr as controller you're self contained. just a thought.

the drivers are mentioned in the first post in this thread (i think)

thans not for the maya 44 usb
http://audiotrak.net/maya44usb.htm
it says that it has asio drivers with it :)
think i am going for that....
so your recommendation is this one and not the audiophile?
i will try to order the audiophile from the us where the price is exactly the same as the maya.....

edit: looks like ive noobed my self...the thread was not for maya 44 :P

:) heh yeah to make it clear i was talking about the maya 44 (not the other 2in 6 out device that is similar).

as i'm on macosx the decision is different than if i was on xp. the maudio drivers seem to be better behaved on xp.

So you are using the maya 44 with ableton live, setting one pair of outs as the master and the other pair as cue and prelisten?

yep, works a treat.

as long as you don't expect the headphone output to be assignable (at least in macosx). it is the sum of all four outs (i checked this morning as i wasn't 100% sure)
