Shame the UK price is much higher than the US price.

Other than that it looks interesting and even at UK prices might be worth a punt given I have 1500 tracks encoded from my vinyl for use in Live anyway :)

Wonder what the sound quality of the Connectiv device is like?

Adonis, you on commission or what? :)

nah, just excited 8)

I should have some type of review this evening 8 9 10 pm Pacific Standard Time

Alot of dance records now costs well over $11.99 and are hard to get <-- that's one thing that's prompted this self revolution to digital

So my eyes and ears have been open - chatting it up with you guys, talking to the guys at PLATINUM and trolling the internet for the best medium to get my point across (digitally)

all fingers were pointing to TORQ!

anywayz

PEACE

If the software played FLAC & the 4x4 USB interface was 24 bit, i'd buy it.

Yeah, Chad also designed the Trigger Finger and co-wrote the Ableton Live Power book with Dave Hill here. Looks cool, can't wait to see how it works with Live.
Best,
Jesse

Is the included USB interface required or can another soundcard be used? I'd really like to get rid of some cables around my Xone:3D

I think yes, but you'd need some external phono amps for each deck into the chosen card/box I suspect.

Does anybody know if it comes with the control vinyl and/or the control cds? I looked all over m-audio's site and don't see it listed as included.

one of the reviews i saw did specifically mention the control vinyl. not sure about the cd's but i'd imagine so

although ---- i suppose i could have just assumed that since they mentioned it (and didn't complain about it) ......

Yes, please do get that cable adonis!!!. I'm pretty excited about this as well and looking forward to your review.

I've been considering SSL or FS for a long time but have always held off because when looking at the set-up instructions it seems tat you need to do calibration on your turntables to get it working properly. It's been a while but I seem to remember seeing that you would need to tune your decks by adjusting the height of the tone arm and stuff like that..

My problem is that my 1200's are probably about 15 years old or so, they play records just fine but I can not adjust the height of the tone-arms because that large knob (that sits under the base of the tone arms) is frozen. I have always been afraid I would buy one of these systems and would not be able to calibrate it properly. I have not had the scratch to drop on new decks (as much as I want them) and a vinyl control system at one time so I have always held off.

But, when looking at the Torq system reviews and stuff I don't see any mention of calibrating the turntables by adjusting the height of the tone arm or anything, so I feel safer. Plus the price is right.

Please let us know about the setup. Specifically if any adjustments need to be doone to the turnntables to improve the signal being sent back to the computer. I really would like to know if I am safe to get this system and will be able to use it with no problems with my old ass decks for a while, till I have the extra cash to drop on some new ones.

Looking forward to the review!

went out and bought it a few days ago...

I went out and bought it a few days ago at the local GC for $300. this set included the control timecode vinyl/cds.

right now i have it analysing all my tracks. (30,000+) its been going at this for about 36 hours, and it's still going...

before i did this though, i checked out the scratch capabilities via amputate (one turntable) mode. very precise! it also recognized my x-session right away. and hopefully i can get my modded dm2 to work with it.

very nice so far. when i get more time on it, i'll let you all know more, but for now here's a review:
