It`s heating up breaking news of maybe blockades and more extreme sanctions. The other countries may go nuclear too.

wtf?

havent heard that one!

why would they do that?
They blame Iran for arming Hezbolah, and want to act before Iran goes nuclear. Since the recent war, they have not yet disbanded their army for leave, etc.

you know - a few months ago a sat down one night going through the internet on "world war 3" stuff

and it was amazing how many different sites said the shit in the Mid-east would escalate when Israel under the US "umbrella" attacked Iran/syria then while all that shit's going down N Korea starts something in Asia

all seems rather planned to me

they reckoned the history books will call world war 3 starting in March 2003 with the invasion of Iraq

freaky freaky shit

actually I'm not really talking about prophecies - as far as I could tell a lot of it was based on genuine threats

Yeah, that's the scary thing.

As a kid the threat was Russia, and I remember watching documentaries (in the UK) about what would happen if the communists dropped the bomb over London (lots of people would die).

Those fears sort of receded, only to be replaced by the forthcoming AIDS holocaust (lots of people would die).

Now it's N.Korea vs The World, Isreal vs. the Arabs, and lets not forget the forthcoming Bird Flu Pandemic, Global Warming, Terrorism, etc.

Instead of one thing to focus our fears on, there are now several. How are we supposed to sleep at night?? 8O

We live in a culture of fear. The only thing you have to fear is actually falling for it and actually starting to fear. People are easier to manipulate if they fear an enemy.

Relax, nothing will come of this.

This should help:

It does to me too. I live in Manchester.

Just avoid daily newspapers (and sensationalist TV news) and the world is a much happier place.

Well, seeing as we have no meaningful say on home or foriegn policy, I'd say it's not worth worring about. The way I see it, I'd rather nuclear weapons were never discovered. Seeing as they are, I don't see how countries like Britian, America and the other nuclear powers can deny the rest of the world what they perceive as their right. Truth be known, I'd rather Iran, Israel and N.Korea did not possess a nuclear capacity but I hardly blame them when faced with the aggression of US foriegn policy. When Bush proclaimed the 'Axis of Evil', he explicitly shelved any potential for meaningful negotiation with these so-called rogue states. Rather, he in his own words asserted they were with the US or against them. Seeing as Iran and N.Korea deeply feel the US threat, I can see why they are rushing to go nuclear as this is perhaps a safeguard against any US invasion.

That stated, don't be fooled into thinking the US military would have any moral difficulties in issuing a nuclear attack pre-emptively if it was in their best interests. I think it was Rumsfeld that was quoted on saying, despite M.A.D, America would come out better off if it did enter a nuclear war with the Soviet Union. I presume this is because those who make the decisions have the luxury of a nuclear bunker to kick back at after they throw back human development two-thousand years.
