YES !! MY SYSTEM FREEZES TOO ... for absolutely no reason ...
The song plays fine, i press stop, i press play and then nothing happens.
Ableton seems to FREEZE sometimes ....
My LIVE performance was killed by this .... Live 5 was absolutely stable and worked fine everytime. Now i can not go back to five because all my Live-5-songs are edited and saved in Live 6.
ABLETON TEAM PLEASE DO SOMETHING !!!!

Live 6 crashed many many times while I was working on a track. Not CPU related at all, cause CPU was like 30-40%. I opended after every crash and let Live rebuild the last setting. Everything was than fine again for another 20 minutes. Than it crashed again out of the blue. Feels like working with an alpha version...
Wouldn´t go to stage with this so far. Please Abes do something about the unstableness!!

Ok here is my wee list
Working with Video...crash ..would not let me back in..kept running in the back ground even after end task... after restart would not open...2nd Restart..live opened but no CPU meter!!!!!
Working with Freeze and flatten crash ..refused to play..followed by skipping noise
Collect and save/library don't even get me started on this one..crash crash crash..seemed better after 6.01 but still has problems with large files.
There is more to add to the list.. but i am going to write to Ableton..this is heart breaking

..i have just done major house keeping on my system..backed up a lot of files and bought a new ExHD for Live6...and 45% of the time when i really need live to work ..it doesn't..unfortunately none of my other software is glitchy...and it didn't happen in Live5, so no real explanation hidden in there.
look forward to the next update..please "abes" fix it!! i love this software !!!!..and i am actually having to use Cubase....God i feel dirty even saying the word ...cubase...shudder

Lots of problems with Live 6 crashing on my MacBook. I'm a noob to boththe mac and live, but I'm not doing anything demanding, itsimply happens occassionally when I trigger something with either keys or mouse. Haven't used my midi input device much, so I can't say it won't happen with that. Emailed support and posted on sos forum too.
Where can i find the crash log? Sorry, REAL amateur with macs at this stage.

i couldn't find any ableton live crash logs either - the built-in crash reporter is also switched off - I think Ableton should give the option of switching it back on whilst Live 6.0.1 is so unstable.
6.0.1 crashed on me seven times yesterday with audio black-outs too!
(the set was not using any third party plugins - just Ableton instuments and one audio file for the audio clips).

Just like many of you guys, I've been getting hard crashes every time I use Live 6.01. They usually occur after using Live for a relatively short duration of time and have no correlation with any individual plugins being used or level of CPU stress. Yesterday I was running one audio track and zero plugins and the computer locked up twice. Also in regards to sending a crashlog to Ableton support, as far as I know, Ableton only generates a crashlog when the application itself crashes and not when it causes the entire computer to crash. Believe it or not, I've actually been asked by Ableton support to try and get Live to crash without crashing the system

Speaking as a former PC geek, I think this kind of serious bug is much more likely to occur on a windohs system rather than a mac, so I think Ableton have really screwed the pooch on this release. I've told strangers at Guitar Center how great Live is so please Ableton, fix this problem as soon as you can.

i'll join the list. for the first time, live 6 began crashing on me today. i'm on an intel imac running a medium sized set with various AU and VST plugs. its crashing about every 5 minutes or less.
5.2.2 did this to me as well; the behavior of live 6, as of today, very much replicates 5.2.2, crashwise. i went back to 5.2.1 and everything was fine, but i haven't tried 5.2.1 after these crashes began, and I shouldn't have too, should I? damn...

blake

On a mac, crash logs are put in ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter/Live.crash.log, where "~" means your home directory.
For what its worth, I'm afraid those of you with lots of crashes are probably in the minority -- it has been utterly stable for me since release, and judging from posts in the beta forum, even people who experienced crashes haven't experienced anything like whats reported in this thread. So it seems likely that there is something particularly unusual either about your setups or about what you're doing, that it didn't come up during the beta period.
