I'm all for society getting active in terms of protecting the rights of its citizens, and more importantly its creators. Unfortuntely so far this has been fairly one eyed. What happened ot my rights to distribute my own content and creative output? (MySpace, Zune) And my rights to listen to copyrighted material I have purchased? (DRM)

you can also embed information in the audio itself (not metadata) that can be recovered for a fingerprint. it's called audio watermarking.

i read that they are getting ready to start letting artist selling tracks from their myspace pages. I think this is why the are cutting down. that sucks that they are denying so many songs.

i dont understand corporate as well as the artist (as long as the dj/remixer/producer/whoever recognizes the artist creative effort). they should thank the dj etc etc for keeping the artist name out there, because the artist can be easily stuck under piles and piles of other people creative endeavers but a dj took the time and dug and rediscover the artist and bring life back to the artist.

music is recycled, and it is up to the individuals to build and/or expand from the previous.

You must own the copyright to the song(s) you are trying to upload. If
you do own the rights to the content or it is your own creation, please
delete the song and upload again.

Please note that this is a new system we've implemented to cut down on
copyright infringement and fake profiles. Please be patient while we

i deleted my song from myspace, formatted my hard disk and rewrote the song with sine waves i made by hand and its still saying the same thing... odd...

heheh kidding, about to try again but last time i did that it was giving me the same error.

myspace player has an horrible shitty sound anyway, you guys would better use that kind of custom flash player for your page

it reads your mp3 crystal clear without any weird processing, and its not limited to 4 tracks. however you'll have to find some webspace to host your tracks.
the only good thing about myspace player imo is the little pic/cover you can put for each song..

Probably just a bug.....

They've written myspace very poorly and can understand it having bugs
when they try to do something new like this. Once they get it sorted I'm
sure you'll once again be able to upload your non-copyright infringing music.

They aren't the best coders over there at myspace.
Probably some of the worst actually.

i can build my own player or something, but the point is the whole ratings and integrated to myspace thing .. also not sure but im assuming your tracks come up in searches if theyre part of the normal myspace player...
