DJs you should look out for are:

Annie Mac - house, hip hop, beats
Annie Nightingale - Breaks
Zane Lowe - Indie, Hip hop, D&B, Dance
Gilles Peterson - World music
Rob da Bank - Experimental
Mary Anne Hobbs - Leftfeild Dance, Hip hop
Pete Tong - Dance
And the awesome John Digweed!

Can someone clear something up for me regarding Last.fm?

Maybe I´m being dumb, but is it possible to hear to the exact artist you typed in your search?

Example, I was looking for James Holden stuff yeasterday, and instead of Holden, it played me Ada and Dirk Layers, which are awesome, but I what I wanted was Holden you know? It seems to do this everytime. I understand Last.fm is supposed to work on a basis of recommending artists similar to your tastes, but how can i make it play me EXACTLY what I want? :?

You have to be joking right? Radio wank has been holding back british music for years, imho it should be shut down and djs like Chris moyles etc made to break rocks in Siberia (and neutered). John Peel was the only dj with integrity, and he absolutely hated the rest of Radio Ones programming ethic, was pretty vocal about it too. Giles Peterson is ok, but on really late, showing their utter contempt for music of genuine quality.

+200 for Last FM

You can't, every once in a while it will play the artist you typed in, but the whole point of it is to find music you havn't heard yet.

If you subscribe to the service (meaning a monthly payment) you can make a playlist of "loved" tunes, you can then listen to this whenever you like.

If you really want to listen to a particular artist just buy the album.

Some stations:

Limbik Frequencies http://205.188.215.225:8018 (Electronic)

Monkey Radio http://207.200.96.226:8038/ (Groove)

ResonanceFM http://212.23.57.33:8010 (arts)

Mixing of Particulate Solids http://147.175.61.55:8000/ (Ambient)

cryosleep http://207.200.96.225:8022/ (very ambient)

BUMP

FWIW I've been digging
http://www.destroyer.net/radio/
and
http://www.deephousepage.com/links.php

Radio One is a bit of a bummer, seems like a great source but it's very pop culture oriented, I did download a KILLER Underworld set from there though, gotta dig, I suppose.

KEXP is killer, their homepage "what's playing now" isn't working.
