in the last year, two of my best friends have died from misadventure. One of which was just a week ago.

Why do the good ones die young ?

It's attributed to Les Brown apparently:
"You know, we can't get out of life alive. We can either die in the bleachers or die in the field. We might as well come down on the field and go for it!"

this year has been similarly shit for me with the loss of close friends unexpectedly and at a young age, 2006 certainly sucked on that front.
For some variation between the funerals my GF got diagnosed with a degenerative neurological condition.

I'm hoping 2007 has a little less of that kind of thing in store.

it's very sad to lose friends, though some good can come from the the pondering of mortality, it helps stop us wasting our lives in trifling innanities, worrying about tax, etc. It can bring a zen-like clarity , what can we make from today?

Our own deaths may be just around the corner, fate deals her hand without preference. A close death reminds us to live in the moment with a special kind of urgency. It has for me anyway.

At the same time my wife and I were burying her great aunt (after a multi-year battle with cancer, 83 years old) this weekend we heard that one of our friend's 9 year-old daughter died of heart failure during the night. And 7 years ago we buried our own 5 year-old daughter after a short but intense battle with cancer. I feel your pain, bro, I can't even begin to count how many friends I've lost to AIDS and drugs since the early 90s.
How do you cope? You carry on, because every single one of those loved ones would kick your ass if you stopped doing what you do.

both my grandmothers died about 2 years ago within like a month of each other. both of them had treated themselves like shit for most of their lives and ended pretty miserably. on the up side they inspired me to quit smoking shortly after and I haven't smoked since. but I do drink all the time and always have. it was easier to quit smoking than it would be to quit drinking.

I don't know i'm not focusing right now I'll be back later when I can focus.

thanks for the sympanthies I suppose.

Coming from a kid who doesn't know shit about audio, music or Live I couldn't care less. Once in a while you talk computers, big suprise there, you're a troll, all porn and internet chit chat.

Plus you spell like a fucking retard, every post you make has errors in it.

$20k worth of gear and you don't know shit about it, what a waste.

I'm no advocate of an OT ban, I just voice when I want it to chill, big fucking deal, one person, one vote.

I'm the troll? I've NEVER seen you help 1 person or type 1 thing interesting about audio, music or Live. You're the main reason people want an ignore button.

Yes, you stupid fucking kid, death is depressing.

It's things like that that make me embrace life for what it's worth (in my better moments at least).

nice when the medicine does work. and you´re totally right, there´s an paradox and strange dark beauty within all the suffering. but to be honest it was a life much lighter when it didn´t feel like that all the time.

You've never seen me help someone ? Well i could say the same about you, but that would be a lie - we have about the same signal-noise ratio.

and what the hell are you talking about, I dont know shit about audio, music or live ? I'd say i know -at least- as much as you. and I'm the kid.

I dont spell like a retard, I type like a retard.

I dont know shit about my gear ? You draw that conclusion on what exactly ?

lets hear some of your wares, buddy.
