no, i played the guitar part first (to a click), and used the triton's bells and orchestral percussion for the jingle. All audio, recorded into live from the mbox.
I have done a few other Jamba songs. They are fun, fast, and simple. I hate christmas music with a passion though.

Hear ya on that one... The whole concept is way overblown... I saw Xmas decorations up in stores as soon as Halloween was over... Seven weeks of hype before the big day is a little too much...
2 more posts to go for the big one....

Nope I'm not. There is a harmonically conflicting part in that groove, but you wouldn't realize that since you most probably have no grasp of harmony.
In other words... It sounds shit... or harmonically challenged.
Can anyone elaborate on why ?

There are no conflicting sounds in that at all.

That is the sounds...
what about the harmonics ?

Basically all the notes go with each other! There is a bit where a chord pattern changes before its counterpart, but then the counterpart changes back again, its like a deliberate off key bit.
Anyway whatever, I can't detect any "harmonic incostistencies".

oh my god.
are we really going to break down a minute long jingle for "harmonic inconsistancies?"
jesus christ, get some perspective people.
besides, the future (uh, or actually, the present) of music is about phrases built from tones, not pitches. but that's another conversation.

i feel like i have to apologize.
I admit, i yanked frankies chain on purpose. I mean, the guy is so volitile and negative i couldn't help myself.
And now look, we're having a pointless discussion about a piece of music that the author of admitedly thinks is throw away. (however, throw away that he got paid for! that's part of the goal sometimes, isn't it?)
plus, some folks are confused:
for instance ---> harmonics = any whole number multiple frequency of the fundamental pitch of a sound.
harmony is something altogether different, but what would i know about it.....

I think it's a cool, cheerful, catchy little tune. Seems perfect for that product and the graphics design of that site. Who cares if it's a Grammy winner or not?
Props to glu.

yes this is true, but I spent very little time or effort on it, and wanted to keep it that way. It was only a draft but they said it was perfect the way it was.

Or almost anyone else who will go online to the Jamba juice website.
seriously man, no need to put down people, does it really make you feel that good?
I figured they probably approved your first draft. I'm not trying to put anybody down, I was just stating that there is in fact a transitional harmony issue there, just pointing it out.

Sorry, I thought you would be up for some critical analysis... about Harmonics / Harmony etc.
You got paid for that shit. Well done.

awe dude, no need to slide an apology into a low blow like that. I am open to any criticism and am quite flattered I got this many responses in the first place. Carry on about harmonics. People have been reading this thread and are interested...
