go for a low capacity model if i were you, it will perform better. like maybe 256k. you can fit a string loop on that and spend a whole hour just raising the filter cutoff.

It gives the old "Unable to write to drive X, your data may have been lost" error. However the drives work great while plugged in by themselves.

I don't use any hard drives. My trance is made right from the computer. It is direct injection and I use an arpraggiator to make the techno beats more.
then i delete all of my tracks and start over with mastering from the MIDI

Just thought I'd add that I've plopped a 320 into my MBP and this is TOTALLY the best hard drive for tarnce.

I like trance from circa 97-2001. I find a vintage hard drive from that era suits things the best.

Use the following as a guide to the optimal disk-drive rpm for your music type:
HipHop (80-100 bpm) : 4,200 rpm
House (120-128 bpm) : 5,400 rpm
Drum&Bass (140-150 bpm) : 7,200 rpm
Trance/Speedcore etc (150+ bpm) : 10,000 rpm
Matching the hard drive rpm to music bpm will ensure optimal recording and prevent beat dropouts.

I just got my trance drive back from repairs. Says it can only play ambient for a week until its warmed up properly

tumeric can speed up the recovery time. Its anti inflammatory benefits are widely known.
