though my library for 6.0.1 is located somewhere else.. :?
Hi Poster,

Did it rebuild a full new Library in the default location? Are you sure that 6.0.1 was actually refering to the Library in your custom location?
Kind regards,
Amaury
yep.. I'am pretty sure because there wasn't a library at the default location at all..
my 6.0.1 library was at a custom location, set in the prefs..

Not sure if it's relevant but since upgrading to 6.03, if I start Live, then close it, Logic Pro hangs at "Setting Up Memory Buffers". Does it every time and I haven't installed or changed anything else. Didn't do it with 6.01. Restart is required to clear things and let Logic Pro load. OSX 10.4.8 G5 PPC.

Just thought I'd mention it.

What does "Deferred opening of sample files" do?

Sounds like it only loads the sounds actually used in a patch. If I made a drum rack with 30 drum samples but I only use 5 of them in my song. then will the song re-open with only the 5 samples loaded to cut down on resource's.

If so, will the rest of the patch continue to load if I try to add more sounds to my song.

If I guessed right, does it have any other features?

Hi,

No, deferred loading means that the device or sets is faster available to work on while material loads in the background, a progress bar telling you how far you are in the loading. For example if you have a very large set or a very large preset with lots of samples, it allows you to start working before the whole thing is loaded.

Amaury

Whoops! Should've waited to use it. Midi server is crashed in OSX 10.4.8 PPC when I open Live. And I've deleted the 6.01. Doh!
What exactly is the issue? Could you then restart Live? If not, try erasing the Preferences and restarting.

Kind regards,
Amaury
My 6.01 prefs were also present. Deleting these and leaving the 6.03 ones resolved the problem immediately.

Thanks.

Gratitude restored. :D
OK, thanks for telling me that deleting the prefs would erase my default set. And it's still screwing-up my Midi server every couple of times I launch Live. This release is causing all sorts of problems which is the first time I have ever had to say that of any Live release.

Well, I got some Libray/Sampler/Imports/Cadenza presets.
So, loading one says samples are missing and - miracel! - they are found.
But when saving this preset I'm pointed to a different location at "Live Devices/Sampler/Import".

Any advice how to structure this from now on?
