Hold a powerbook, then hold a macbook. It's obvious that the powerbook is better made.

That said I've just swapped my 12" 1.33 powerbook for a 2GHz black macbook rev b. I'm well pleased. It's well solid performance wise and stupid cheap because I get edu discount (850 quid!).

I'd love a small mbp though. Until they come out I love this macbook.

Performance has increased, quality and quality control have dropped.

Sad but true.

I think quality and quality control went down for a bit for sure. This Rev B macbook is flawless. No moo, whine, bad fitting casing, RSS...none of that.

My mates Rev A was a nghtmare though, all of the above. It's had new keyboards, logic board the lot.

Go for the macbook!!! I'm gonna definitely shoot for one here in a month or two after I work some more overtime and get my tax $$.. I may sell a few things, so I can get it earlier. We'll see.

Yea the macbook dosnt feel quite as well built as my powerbook, but thats mainly the feel of the keys otherwise its pretty solid.
Im gunna wait to see what happens tommoro with the alleged small macbook pro.... then wait a while till the first batch have all been sold, then the next thing will proberbly come along, and ill want that.
Want want want want want, i spend too much time wanting and not enough time making music. Must remember to kick my arse more frequently.

The powerbooks are more solid than the macbooks, yes, but what about the macbooks pro?
They should be made of the the same fine quality than the PBs?

I'm pretty sure they are. They also don't have the neat touches like a magnetic latch, easy to replace HD (the killer for me) etc.
They also have a plastic wrist panel (painted to look alu), the powerbooks had alu.

I was talking from a small laptop perspective btw., the mbp is a little big for me.
