I was going to link you to a site where they have them. But they say they're sold out.

I'll check if CM will do a reprint. Or if there is another source to get them.

Tell me this is more informative than the last one.
I found the live pack stuff on the CD of the last CM Ableton special (or was it Future Music?) very cool, but the magazine was full of blatant manual retreads and stuff that's pure common sense to me.

was nice to see the forum regulars make an appearance in the mag
definitly a good issue, even if u spend alot of time reading the forums and know all the tips n tricks etc , its a nice reference guide and is very well presented, the cd is probably worth the price of admission alone, the Dennis DeSantis racks in particular i found to be quite nice

Computer Music Special HELP: problems with tutorial plugins

by mclive
In the first tutorial of the computer music special issue, the article says download MDA stereo and download SSL LMC-1.
First, MDA stereo is only available as a vst plug-in. Ok, i put this file into the VST folder in /Library/Audio/Plugins/VST (this is mac osx 10.4.

, restart live, make sure vst plugins are turned on - and i see a bunch of VST stuff - mainly native instruments stuff, but no MDA Stereo. So i set up a "special vst folder" as per Live's preferences. And then rescan. The plugin still doesn't show up.
what am i missing?
Have the same problem with the SSL LMC-1 plugin - download it; it's version 1.1.3. Do the login and log out - even restart - as requested by the installer. Go to Live, load the tutorial file from the special edition cd, and it says the LMC-1 plugin is missing. I check the /Library/Audio/Plugins/COmponents folder, and the plugin is there, but not showing up in live.
Any suggestions on how to get either of these plugins to load properly, much obliged.
best
mc
ps - have a bad feeling this is a Universal Binary issue - pretty strange to put together extra effects for this tutorial that would NOT also be intel mac compatible?

Hey Guys and Girls.
I just got a reply from CM about the availability of this issue.
It has been flying of the racks (no pun intended)
But some locations still have them in stock. And it's still running for another month overseas.
If you have trouble locating an issue, then contact cmspecial@futurenet .co.uk for advice.
cheers

Check what the makers promised us in the other thread, I'm still waiting for them to fulfil their promises:

If you follow through the Complete track tutorial you can just add you own sample/synth patches, but if you want to head straight to the Arrangement tutorial what we are going to do is Freeze and Flatten the individual loops so that anybody without the EIC can still work through the Arrangement tutorial.
Keep your eyes peeled and it should be up within a couple of days - we hope that helps!
