never heard of Stanley Clarke?!?!? One of the cornerstones of modern electric bass playing, and a super-sick upright player as well. He's got a lot of great compositions, and has played with all sorts of great jazz cats, like Chic Corea in Return to Forever. Quiet Afternoon is on my favorite Stanley cd--"I wanna play for you"--some amazing playing on that album, tons of great guests--the live trio cut with Jeff Beck called Jamaican Boy is phenomenal. Just in case you haven't heard of Jaco Pastorius and Chuck Rainey, those are two of my other favorite bass players of Stanley's vintage (along with Bernard Edwards from Chic).

oh, and pandora is definitely fun times...

Seems pretty shit to me. I gave it Carl Craig, and it played me BT and Carl Cox. Thumbs down.

Cool site thanks.

Could have done without those two McCheeseburgers staring at me, but hey, that's the cost of not subscribing, so I'll take it.

I have used Pandora.com religiously for about 3 months or so. I love it - type in Ulrich Schnauss ir Monolake or Autechre, and you have a few hours of great radio ahead of you!

and pandora.com even has the courtesy to tell the listeners *why* they are being presented with a certain piece of music.

Oh, and to the person who asked pandora for a specific track and didn't get it... well, stick around on pandora, it may just play it for you later on in the playlist.

I've found that after the first entry, it gives you a broad range of stuff... But as you click thumbs down or thumbs up, it narrows your parameters dramatically.

For example, after about 30 thumbs up and 10 or so thumbs down, I've narrowed one station to funky breaks and jungle with only the occasional (and enjoyable) curve ball in there.

I entered DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, Why?, The Knife, CSS and Justice and I´m getting an awesome mix of electro and beats......I´ve been listening for hours and I´ve only had to thumb down about 3-4 times. And it´s 90% stuff I´d never heard of before. Really cool.
