Bezier?

I'm not sure about this one.
Try to get an abrupt dead end, a full stop with bezier curves.
It can become very painstaking to mess around with.
And try to explain Bezier curves to newbies...they'll run away to 'Magic Music Maker' or something.
Not that I don't generally like the idea of bezier curves.
I just also believe in keeping it somehow simple to a certain point.

+1 for me

This is such an absolute must for the next version of Live.
It really should have been added earlier but as long as its in the next version I will be happy. This is the one feature that I want the most in Live 7

Manipulating samples start/end time + fade-in/out automations (for example) [or any other automations] would be much more flexible with curves then with the straight lines. Indeed, a long long awaited feature...

To say that I am utterly disgusted with Ableton right now is a MASSIVE understatement.
I could not possibly be more dissapointed with the feature list of Live 7.
I cant bellieve that yet again they are releasing a new verion of Live and have COMPLETELY ignored the requests of so many of thier users to imprliment bezier curves into envelope drawing and continue to use such a primitive system that doesnt allow the creation or editing of proper curves at at.
I am reminded of early 8 bit drawing programs where a line would be made up of a series of bit incremints, thats how technologically advaced the current system is.
Every Live user I know has been waiting for bezier curves and believed that it couldnt be left out again.
Shame on you Ableton for disappointing so many of your loyal user base.
With the exception of a couple of the new instruments and the side chaining on the compressors, I will never use most of the new features. Version 7 will leave a very bitter taste in my mouth.
I will likely be better off instead of spending the money on the live 7 upgrade, buying a 3rd party side chain compression AU.
I undetstand that the features that have been implimented are because people have asked for them but I dont see how you can miss out something that so many people want, I would really like someone at Ableton to explain the decision to not impliment this feature. Is ableton turning into being like all the other DAW companies now and only implimenting features they thing that users need rather than what the users ask for?

Still no bezier Curves in Live 7? For the price of the update with all instruments etc. I will get Logoc 8 pro! Whew! :)

Yep, thats the exact thing Im considering right now and thats the same thing that IM hearing from alot of others.
I really love lives workflow but I find the lack of bezier curves really limiting. I find the only way around this is to do multiple takes of recording automation, which then are pretty much impossible to edit after that point unless you want to move all of about 50 points individually... what a joke...
Dont get me wrong, I know alot of people are very happy with the features list for 7, but it doesnt take any more than a cursory glance over the forum here to find ALOT of users who are VERY unhappy with some of the things that have been missed out, such as automation in clips, which is in my opinion another MASSIVE oversight, especially for playing live.
With a new version of Logic out with a MASSIVE list of improvements and for pretty much the same price I think that theres a good chance that there are alot of live users who dont want to pay for this upgrade and then have to wait another year+, living in hope that for Live 8 we will get the features we want..
You would have to look VERY hard to find as many negative comments about Logic 8 as there are all over about Live 7

Guess some users don't really get that most of the so-called features will be sold speratly from Live7!

so not true..
the core features outweigh the add-ons by far..

don't get me wrong; I want beziers too..

but a little scenario;

you have 1 unit of development time to spend..

you have 2 users;
one asks for feature X, the other one for feature Y..
both wishes take 1 unit of development time..

which one is served?

lets say we would've seen bezier curves, but no time sigs..
can you imagine the dissapointment in that camp?
and so on, and so on..

Don't get me wrong, but every year a non-free ungrade, why is that? I would prefer to wait longer and only pay once for basic (!) DAW features.
