Yup, Quicktimes the culprit. I just reinstalled OS (Win7 Ult 64 bit), thought I had installed all my regular files, couldn't wait to get to beats. Opened up Live, couldn't get the vocals of this remix I was doing started. The vocals source was an mp3 but I saved a wav of it, I thought. Still wasn't til i came here and found the quicktime solution that I tried it and sure enough that was it.

A side note, the error msg is based on the mp3 but I recorded the vocals as wav, the referenced mp3 file was deleted! Why does this still happen?

What messed up my system was installing the LAME codec for another piece of software, Audacity. I had to uninstall that, then I installed Quicktime and everything is back to working 100%
