Speaking of, I just bought Sampler. Figure it will go well with the Korg PadKontrol I purchased earlier this week.

So using Sampler racks for multi-output drums is LESS CPU than Impulse? or about the same?

Exactly
I actually dont do a whole lot of post programming individual drum tweaking.
I get sounds i like, either layer different versions of them, filters, stutters, backwards etc. or just put them on different keys.
but when I want to do that, I do what hoffman said, or I just use battery.

Live's devices don't use any CPU when not used.
With the exception of beat repeat, which is always active.
Live does get sluggish when you start using over 5000 devices. With all the automatable parameters that become available and all...
But you either need to be insane or a Covert Operator to do stuff like that and expect it to work.
Anyway, the point is: I've tested it in uber-extreme situations...
A rack of simplers is no different then battery. (with the exception of some very specific features no doubt....)

So then doing multiple outs from a rack is as easy as setting up another audio track and telling it's input to be a specific rack chain?

Exactly.
