i like one. cheap and it sounds good, i think. but i'm not a keys player, so what do i know. there are freeware synths that are better, but not many. automat is the only one i can think of, and i can definitely find a use for both, so i don't regret the purchase. and stacking 2 in a rack is cool.

Dear Johnisfaster,
Not so long ago you were in love with Fabfilter. Are you a teenager, in and out love all the time?
Regards
Little Pig
PS just friendly banter! it's Friday so I feel a bit light hearted.
PPS wasn't there a free version of fabfilter 1 on Computer Music cover disc?

Dear Johnisfaster,
Your topics are some of the worst I've ever seen...but you are consistent.
I didn't like this but I like this. I liked this but I don't like this. Yeah.
Well done.

Never used their synths but I recently bought Volcano and Timeless. Disgusting plugins and I don't see myself ever needing a filter or delay ever again.
PS
Go buy Zebra2. That is a synth tweaker's marilyn monroe. Beautiful plugin and can sound like every other synth and no other synth you've ever heard all at the same time. And no keyboard skills required. Just play a single note or chord in key with your song and start sculpting away with what seems like infinite oscillators, filters, effects and arpeggiators. It's honestly the first digital instrument that makes me want to just sit there and sculpt patches and not write music because it's almost like a synth and a daw in and of itself.

Consider a synth like Sytrus or Zebra. I'm not a Zebra fan, but it seems that it's deep enough to really keep you interested for a long time. I know Sytrus is soooooooooooooo deep that it's insanely powerful. You might consider selling the synths and keeping the Volcano or Simplon, because they are among the best filters out there. You can still get the benefits of the filter, but get a synth engine that will keep you challenged for some time.
And BTW, I like your topics.

I love how the creatures around here contribute nothing of their own but give me a hard time for having conversations of my own. you don't like my conversation then talk to someone else.

I like John's topics, too, a-holes. If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all. I love the Timeless and Volcano, had no use for Twin. Seems like Zebra is what everyone is recommending for you, I'll still throw my 2 cents in for Native's synths, no sounds I can't find, really, with Absynth, FM8, Massive, Reaktor. I doubt I, myself, have a need for Zebra, but from the rave reviews here I might have to check it out. I'm a gear whore.

never was a big fan of how ni plugs ran for me, too much cpu, they like to stall mementarily when you open the gui and they always hold onto my comptuers "focus" if that makes sense. like I have to click on live again if I want to type something or hit spacebar which is only a minor neusense.

I also cannot understand a lot of people raving about Twin - I also do not like their filter plugins - they sound like doped. The delay seems super though ... if they had offered the delay during their groupbuy I would have got it .....
Yes, not allowing license transfer is pretty lame ....
best

Timeless Kicks A- hole. the mod options are nuts. Also, really dig Twin, Its not a bread and butter synth, You have to look at it for what it is. I mostly use it for leads basses and effects.
Lately, ive been harassing the Fabs to make a sampler. Something simple with the modmatrix they have and the filters.
