How many of us sad bastards troll the forum during work
I've tried to make this clear from the beginning, hence my silly log-in.

This place kinda helps me with my job. But, I admit, there are phases where I get too obsessed with Live, usually because I'm really deep into a project (currently it's my DJ set) and I spend a bit more time here then I probably should.

My bosses have never had a problem with my workflow, so they let me do whatever. It's good.

I look at it this way, everybody in this office will spend a certain percentage of the day talking about the recent football game, etc. none of which interests me (probably a bigger impediment to my career than the internet ever could be...) It just so happens there's no one around to talk to me about VST's, control surfaces, time-stretching algorithms etc. So this is how I keep sane in between real work. Of which I do more than my share (and that's the important thing.)

About a year ago I just started showing up with my laptop and keeping it running on my desk all day with audio apps. No one said if it was against the rules or not, I didn't ask, I just started doing it.

Now when you pass my cube, it's completely normal to see me with headphones on, hunched over my lappy!

exactly!

Corporate Cubicles Culture is too weird...
I don't make a very good cube rat but that's a good thing right?

This place is a haven for me when I'm at work.

They pay me to do other things like write copy, create graphics for articles, give presentations. They're happy with how I preform all of these things, so no one questions it if they pass by my cube and I'm doing whatever.

But, I try as hard as I can not to over do it . A strong work ethic and good will power got me here. I don't want to screw it up. :)

I am intrigued by this "work" that you speak of, and would like to subscribe to your newsletter.
