Sould i update to 10.4.8?

This was my experience too.

Then I put the music on hold and switched to an operating system that hasn't been updated for seven years (BeOS R5) on a six year olde IBM ThinkPad and I have had next to no problems with that... Except for the 'no music' bit:|
