I've tried to register with the site but I haven't had the confrimation email yet.

Interesting, I think 10.4.8 is very bad with sound. A friend even had trouble with the audio on a mac mini (not external, the internal card).

Roll on 10.4.9.

all -

AudioFire 8 user here, and I can say that overall I've had a pretty positive experience in all regards to Echo's equipment, tech support, etc.

HOWEVER, I guess I'm taking the thread off topic, as I'm on a PowerBook 1.67 gHz, so I guess my opinion isn't so hot.

Good luck,

BDS

BDS:

your experience is as valid as anyone else´s
if not regarding the system,
at least regarding user exerience and tech support opinion

btw: regarding tech support: did you ever really need them ? if so, where they efficient ?

Nonnus -

when I picked up my 8 last spring, I had some difficulties using the Console & Maurice in Tech Support was pretty patient in answering the questions that weren't addressed by the manual. Since the release of the 2.06 Beta though, I haven't really needed to contact support.

Of course, I've had to wait a little longer than I'd like to get answers sometimes (about 3-4 days in one case) but I'm under the impression that Echo is still a pretty small company, so I can forgive that slight failing.

And regarding latency, etc; I play multiple instruments (guitar & bass) to create live loops and with the 8 @ about 236 samples & 10 ms of latency, I've never had any issues.
