I went ahead and uploaded a unfinished remix for this local hip hop group - it's not dirty south so I'm having a hard time with it but...

Cool stuff. I'm partial to Nebulae's track for some reason. What are you using for instruments there? Nice timbres.

Cool Vox on that We Build Smiles track, especially in the verses.

And sebovzeoueb, I love the wild "data dump" piano arpeggios at the end of your track.

My stuff is a little different. Not much synth. Wanky guitars and vocals, etc. Sometimes I feel like the only "rawk" guy on the Abe site.

Quiver of Eros is my March 1st entry, even though it's not done yet. (You can click on the text below the title to see my notes on where it's headed.) I have a bad habit of working really slow, or not at all, so this year I'm committed to posting at least one track a month. (I'm already 1 track behind LOL.)

Aside: I did Junkie Stir with Cakewalk Project 5. The rest of that stuff is analog tape.

DJ those rappers are tight! If I were producing I think I'd shorten the intro, but otherwise, sounds great.

Live's dope - I can just cut a section out of the intro and put it in the outro

125 is not my preferred tempo but I'm enjoying the challenge - thanks again for the feedback

I'd like to get into doing more real instruments and mc's but I don't know where to look to find a decent rapper / vocalist

It's good to have a place to stick your neck out with new material, and listen to what everyone else is digging up. I don't really have a community of players to interact with in person on a daily basis anymore. This kind of thing is definitely helpful.

That's a good use for the material, yeah, and that way you keep the overall track length where you want it.

I haven't rapped in oh like 10 years really - it's a remix I'm doing for a local hip hop rap group. A project a good friend of mine wanted to udnertake

but, I have day dreams of doing house / techno / electro with someone rapping or mc'ing over the beat

plus I like the idea of real drum kits, real drum breaks - real basses etc etc

that's the direction I'd like to go in

dj - gotcha. I don't know... sounds like you know what you want, so if you can't find the right singer/rapper, I'd recommend you step up and sing/ rap yourself. I'm 100% for real instruments. I just got myself a 4-string bass and tracking this is like night and day vs. trying to make a synth bass sound funky. And a real drummer is indispensible if you can find one/ afford one/ put up with one. Lots of microphones involved though...

Man, after I posted I clicked over and listened to Quiver after having ignored it for a couple days. Embarrassing! I've really gotta go back and get that lead guitar outta there LOL.
