update. audiofire started not working again. pretty cool. i received the standard response from their tech support: "are your inputs muted?" and "boot your computer, then plug in the card." even tho i clearly explained i had no problems with receiving audio inputs. what a lame response...no greeting or anything. didn't even sign his name. man, i'm NEVER buying from those guys again. card sounds great but geebus what shitty customers service.
so anyway, the card works fine as long as i leave the dongle unplugged (i just want midi, not spdif). i can even set it as the default output, run a song in itunes and plug/unplug it and it switches back/forth to my built in card automagically. plug the dongle in, it won't work in a million years. might work if i plug the dongle in after i've connected the card, but i dunno....
