Are all your shows this big?

Heh, if only! That was the Big Day Out festival in our home town, Auckland. I suspect the crowd were really there for a couple of little-known bands called Kraftwerk and Underworld but they seemed to enjoy our stuff too. Playing to that many people was a total fookin blast, but the best thing was seeing KW and UW from the sound tower three times in a row on the Aussie leg of the tour. Every time I hear the live version of Cowgirl/Rez from EverythingEverything I get goosebumps.

Been a while since I've done a gig, but here's one of my friend suburban bather and I from a few years back.
Me on the right:
Powerbook
Evolution UC 16
Wacom Tablet
Roland EF-303
Pioneer DJM 500
1 Technics 1200
1 vinyl copy of: jesus christ superstar, Bobby Seale "Gagged and Chained", Chaucer, selected readings from Canterbury Tales" and "John F Kennedy Excerpts from Great Speeches"
Suburbanbather on the left with a Dell laptop and an Evolution UC-33 running the percussion
That was a weird night. We played in a church basement to a bunch of metal head and rocker kids.

Cheers Steve!
Eh? wot new album?? it's only been 7 months since Rude Mechanicals, and that took 3 years...
But I do have a solo project coming out this month, it's a bit different though... it's an album combining traditional Maori instruments with electronics. So file under World/Electronica - for want of a more useless description... It comes out in NZ on the 14th, but I'll be making a big noise about it on here shortly.

these photos are a bit old now... but you get the idea...
setup now is:
2x guitars and vocals....
alesis micron midi and audio into motu traveler/MBP playing vsts and it's own audio.
motu traveler is racked up with a Ultra-DI Pro Rack, and it's own multi-core, so we never have to worry about house DI boxes, or not having enough house leads ever again.
6 seperate outs.... a stereo click/drum mix. a mono bass mix, a click for on-stage only, and a stereo synth mix.
bass channel also gets sent to a bass amp on stage.
headphone out of motu gets sent to drummer.
video out of MBP gets sent to video projector, and/or multiple TV sets (when we can be bothered bringing them to gigs.)
