Anybody know of a way I can tell if some fool is stealing t'interweb from me? My wireless network is security enabled - so how could someone use it if they don't know the password???
(P.S - I mooched off a neighbour for a nearly a year a while back. I guess this is Karma getting back at me...

)
You can see it in the logs , better restrict through your computers mac number. I let people next door use my network but I entered the number and the rest myself, I am nice but not stupid.
I used to use some fools network before, while in the garden, being too lazy to go inside and get the cable.

Even an newbie hacker kid can probably crack your WEP encryption and spoof your mac adress filtering. But it will keep out your neighbours.
If you want some real security, you need to use WPA encryption

If you want real security, get a balaclava and some roofies.

I asked a hacker to test my system (WPA2, mac and invisible) He was able to get into most of the Wlan around but not mine ( he managed to see it but not crack it), BTW. the kind of tools he used looked really wicked.

Depeche Mode, wears suit
Since someone asked mac has nothing to do with Apple Mac, it is just any computers ID number.
I wouldn't mind people using my WLAN but misuse could be another story. Leaving WLAN insecure due to ignorance is no excuse, in most countries you can be hold responsible. It is like leaving your car open with the keys inside.

But I think if I welded a can of beans to my PowerBook, Steve Jobs would appear out of the ether and strike me down with a titanium powerblast.
You don't gotta weld nothin to your 'book, man!
Just replace the antenna on your wireless access point with this tin can rig and put it in your apartment. Boom, free wireless access.

The problem with your PB is not the card, BUT THE ANTENNAS on the computer (the two lighter area on the lid edge near the top... a new internal card would still use those antennas. If you go get a new card, get a PCMCA card that has its own antenna.
15" PB 2.5 Ghz, 4 Gig RAM, 750 GB HD, Live 9 still no cue points or program change messages?!?. Doesn't do shit.
