the MicroKontrol is great. the pads are about the size of the pads on a dr. sample... they totally do the job. you don't need pads as big as an MPC to do drum stuff. you can switch between presets pretty quick.
it also has a librarian feature so you can edit and store on your computer.

Where can we find infos about the MXF8. I've wished to buy a notron for years and now they are only second hand, and I've just seen one for years. I've never heard anything about the mxf8.

Very happy with the Remote 25. Little things, like min and max range definable for each controller. Merge incoming midi to either midi out (it has 2) or USB (or both), each control can send independently to any combination of midi outs and USB.
The only thing I think it lacks is the ability to generate midi clock.
just my $0.2 +GST

Drehbank

I thought the Ozone was really cool until I realized that they have horrendous power management problems. I bought two of them, and they both had the same problem: Whenever there was some sort of a power spike in the electrical system that it was plugged into, it would reset, and Windows would lose the driver for it, effectively stopping all sound output. This always seemed to happen during livesets, too. Tascam US-122 is smaller, and WAY more stable. I love it. As far as the midi controller thing goes, I am all about my Doepfer Drehbank. 64 knobs! What more can you ask. This means that most people will always have enough knobs to map to all conceivable functions in Live, without having to rely switching banks and running into annoying problems with having pots instead of endless encoders. Plus, the Drehbank is made out of METAL, not plastic. It is solid as a beast, and the action on the knobs is great, not to mention they are a great size for most fingers. The only downside I can possibly think of is that the knobs are a bit close together, but not as close together as some of the other controllers out there such as the uc-33 and the kenton control freak live.

Nick, did you power the Ozone through USB ? If yes, did you use a hub ? or an AC adapter ? I ask because a friend intends to buy an Ozone and I'm trying to gather infos for him about its reliability.

Can't power Ozone thru USB, wall-wart only. There's a phantom power input, but don't be deceived, it's just to drive a mic.
First and only controller I've owned, and still v new to midi, but it seems pretty cool to me, so far. Bit plastic. But for 200 notes, whaddya expect?
Monolake's controller

I posted this question in another thread, but it didn't yet get answered...
Anyone know what the controller is that Monolake is using on his current tour? It is definitely something that I haven't seen for sale anywhere - though I believe I saw a dopefer sticker on it. It looked built like a tank, and had industrial sized knobs and lighted buttons - approx. square in shape, and about twice the size of an MPC... Anyone????
